Best public parks for kids (part 1)

It’s well known that being outdoors helps children release stress and boost their creativity. The good news is that it is possible for your kids to enjoy the benefits even though they are living in an urban environment. Take your kids to these parks!

1. Jacob Ballas Garden

Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden is known as Asia’s first children’s garden. Dedicated to all children of Singapore, it is designed to provide your kids with wonderful discovery and learning experiences — all in a garden setting.


2. Gardens by the Bay

Come to the internationally renowned Gardens by the Bay — just a five-minute walk away from the Marina Bay centre. Your kids can explore the numerous green conservatories, stroll along the aerial walkway and check out the man-made Supertrees that generate electricity(above).


3. East Coast Park

Open since the 1970s, families still flock to this perennial favourite public park on Singapore’s eastern side. In addition the favourite activities of cycling and kite-flying, kids can now try their hand at mini-golf, fishing and in-line skating. Check out  the indoor playground too!


4. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Take a walk on the wilder side of Singapore at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Kids can take in Singapore’s surprisingly varied biodiversity (monkeys, birds, insects and exotic plant species) right in the middle of Singapore’s urban jungle.


5. Pasir Ris Park

Another favourite park with Singaporean families — the main attraction for kids is the Children’s Playground (above). With big nets, slides and climbing frames, this is the perfect spot for your little ones to burn off their excess energy!
