Going out every weekend with the family can put a strain on your finances. Good news then that having fun does not equal to spending loads of money. We present you a list of things you can do this weekend without spending a dime! Here are 10 things to do with kids that is free:
1. Go stargazing
Stargazing? In Singapore? Yes you can and we do mean with actual telescopes! You can get your astronomer on at The Science Centre. So head down to The Observatory located at the Omni-Theatre building. A cool fact about The Observatory – It is located next to the Equator and this unique position opens up more vistas in the sky allowing views of constellations in both the northern and southern celestial hemispheres!
3. Be arty farty
There are many museums and Art galleries in Singapore where you don’t need to pay upon entry. Some of these include the NUS Museum and the Print Tyler Institute. So take the kids and explore the different types of visual arts on display and they might just be inspired to do their own artwork.
4. Go on a sculpture trail
Singapore is littered with artwork by famous artists. You just need to know where. So why don’t you take a Singapore map – you can get this free from any visitor booths and together with the kids mark out the areas where these famous statues and sculptures are found. The Singapore River is a great place to start!
5. Feed the fish
The Botanical Gardens has many ponds teeming with fishes and tortoises. Admission to the Gardens is free and all you need is to bring along stale bread and feed the fishes in the pond. Watch as they splash around trying to beat each other to the best morsels that you’re throwing into the pond.
