Keep your kids busy with these 8 exciting things to do for the school holidays.
Pirates of the East
Pirates. Just that word alone sends joyful shivers down any child’s timbers. And of the exotic Asian variety, too! Learn about the rough seas surrounding our Straits Settlement during colonial times, and meet the personalities that made their names fighting for riches and glory, and well as the heroic protectors that kept our waters safe during this turbulent era.
NTUC Income Kite Festival Singapore 2012 Grand Flying Days
This weekend, bring your children (and your kites) to one of Singapore’s most beautiful open spaces, set on the facade of Marina Bay and the Singapore skyline. NTUC Income kicks off the 3rd annual Kite Flying Festival at the Promontory @ Marina Bay.
The multi award-winning international performance ends its run this weekend at Marina Bay Sands. It’s your last chance to catch the snowy alternate universe where beds become boats, boys walk in bubbles, women turn into vases, men become trains and a letter turns into a snowstorm that leaves the auditorium ankle-deep in snow.
Polliwogs @ Robertson Walk
We were invited to the opening of the newest indoor playground to open in the heart of downtown Singapore, which features giant wave slides, ball pits, a rock-climbing wall, a flying fox and a ball cannon enclosure that really redefines the term “war zone” for both parents and kids. There’s also a toddler’s play area for smaller children and ample seating and free wifi for parents, too!
Date Your Grandparents
Because we all know grandpa and grandma need love too, take some time this weekend to show your own mum and dad a good time. This event by the National Arts Council’s inaugural Silver Arts 2012 programme features performances by seniors, exhibitions, craft-making and photo booth opportunities.
Scoop of Art
Dine in while your kids indulge in the craft-making corner.at Singapore’s first Gelato & Art café where you get to experiment with a wide variety of Gelato flavours & Art & Craft. There’s also a pretty good food menu featuring Garlic Prawn Pasta, Cheese Croque Sandwich and more!
Teddy Bear Dress Up @ eXplorerkids Downtown East
If you haven’t gotten your kid’s teachers anything for Teachers Day yet, eXplorerkids is holding a workshop this Wednesday at 10.30am where your child gets to create a unique, customised teddy bear as a gift for his or her favourite educator — if your child doesn’t end up keeping it.
Wildlife-themed playground @ Tampines 1
You know how much we love themed playgrounds. Tampines 1 has created one that’s both wet and wild. The 10,000 square feet playground offers parents a new and unique experience as they can take their children there to relax, play and learn about wildlife conservation.Posted in Uncategorized
