September spells F-U-N for most families as kids look forward to the school holidays. It is also during this time of the year that the Sentosa Buskers Festival makes an appearance on Sentosa.
To add some fun into the week-long school holidays for the whole family, head down to the Sentosa Buskers Festival and be entertained with spectacular acts by talented international, local and budding street buskers. You’ll also get to try out some juggling and acrobatic moves, enjoy delectable bites and shop for quirky gems at this street festival.
Here’s a quick look at some of the acts that will be performing at the Sentosa Buskers Festival between Merlion Plaza and Siloso Beach, from 7 to 15 September 2013, 4.30pm t0 10.30pm.
Top international buskers
Some of the best street buskers from around the world will be making their way to Sentosa island to put on a great show at the festival.
One of the biggest stars at the festival is Titan the Robot who has travelled the world and hung out with A-list celebrities such as Rihanna and Jackie Chan. Watch as he combines the best of comedy, street theatre and music in an awe-inspiring performance – transformer-style. You cannot miss this!
To add a rush of excitement to the event, look out for the blazing fire performance by the Tribal Ninja duo, Yanika and Hiro. These daredevil visual circus performers bring the best of juggling and hooping through the use of some sizzling props.
Be sure to reward the entertainers by leaving a tip in their hats. The buskers who will be juggling their way to garner claps from the crowd include theatre circus performers Javi Javichy (Spain), Duoh Lala! (Chile & France), Tuto Tul (Argentina) and many more.
If you happen to spot a dusty-looking, The Leaning Man figurine during the festival, do give him a tip (and a soft tap on his shoulder!) and watch him spring to life in a series of gravity defying robotic moves.
Budding and inspiring local buskers
Look out for some of your favourite local buskers as they showcase their talents at the festival!
Sit down for an amazing magic show by The Two Tall Guys and The Amazing Alexander. You and your family will get to enjoy an intriguing show of magical illusion with lots of rib-tickling one-liners!
For more awe-inspiring magical acts that will keep you on the edge of your seat, The J Show is set to impress with his crystal ball floating, plate spinning and knife juggling routines. Watch as he transforms from a magical juggler into a classical musician who plays the xylophone using ping pong balls at the end of the show.
Kids who adore balloon sculptures will enjoy the performance by Lightning Fingers. Keep your eyes peeled (try not to blink) as he sculpts his balloons into cute shapes and objects within seconds!
There will also be other budding local buskers who will be performing during the Sentosa Buskers Festival, including favourites like Way Past Curfew, E-Alternatif, Pink Saturday, Flaming Matrix, Satrialala and more. Do give them your support by cheering them on and tipping their hats!
Drop by the interactive zone during the festival to have a go at juggling and trying out some acrobatic moves. See if you can perform these simple circus acts better than the street buskers, under the watchful eyes of the guides from Circus In Motion.
Shop, dine and be merry!
Take a break from the buzz and excitement and recharge with great food and refreshing drinks at the Beer Garden to give your feet a rest after a long day of walking through the festival ground. You can also bring the kids to the Food Street to pick up some yummy snacks.
Do check out the Artist Market and Flea Market before you call it a day – you’ll never know what treasures you can pick out!
