5 best libraries in Singapore for kids

Libraries are no longer silent stuffy places full of packed shelves. We bring you five of the best libraries in Singapore to take your little bookworm.

1. The National Library

The 16-storey building located on a site between Bugis Street and Bras Brasah Complex replaces the old National Library formerly at Stamford Road. You can relax in one of the indoor gardens or cafes if your kids are done with the library.

2. Geylang East Community Library

This library is popular on weekends with local families because of the many activities hosted for kids. They can attend book events, fun workshops and enrichment classes.

3. Marina Parade Library

This is the first library in Singapore to be located inside a community centre. Children will love playing with the Interactive displays and exhibitions at the Kids’ corner.

4. Woodlands Library

One of Singapore’s most state-of-the-art libraries offers families plenty to do during their visits. Kids will love the Reading Park, Enchanted Tree and the waterfall display in the main atrium.
The largest public library in Singapore boasts four floors of space and a special performing arts area for teenaged readers called VergingAllTeens.
