“It’s a delightful interpretation of the books, featuring puppets and a great deal of imagination.” – The Guardian, UK
Here’s what mums thought of the show at the very first public performance in Singapore!
“Charlie and Lola’s Extremely New Play was a fun interpretation of the popular kids’ TV series. The minor sound-related technical issue at the start didn’t stop my 4-year-old from enjoying the show. The puppeteers were really skillful and were able to keep the young audience’s attention for most of the 1 hour duration of the play. Try to get seats in the middle or towards the front of the theatre so your kids get the chance to catch the falling ‘leaves’ during the ‘Autumn’ part of the play. I wouldn’t recommend taking along younger kids – this is definitely a show for kids aged 4+. ” – Nalika, Singapore
“My 5-year-old is a huge fan of the Charlie and Lola cartoon on CBeebies and she loved every bit of the Charlie and Lola’s Extremely New Play. The stage props were done beautifully to depict the 4 seasons. I observed that although most of the older kids enjoyed the show, some of the littler ones did get a bit restless. All in all – a great show for Charlie and Lola fans! ” – Minoli, Singapore
“This was the first trip to see a live show with my 2-year old boy and we made a good choice with Charlie and Lola’s Extremely New Play! While he did get restless towards the end, the older kids (4+) in the audience were totally transfixed. The props and scenery were just as entertaining as the TV show and the puppeteers did a great job keeping the kids’ attention, despite a minor sound glitch at the start. The bit with Sizzles was especially good! A really great way to spend a morning if you get the chance!” – Nancy, Singapore
