Voice Mechanics by Maywa Denki (Japan)

Concert Hall

7 Jun, Sat, 7.30pm

Following their debut show Mechatronica at Flipside 2007, Voice Mechanics promises to be an out-of-this-world visual music feast.

Maywa Denki’s live performances are designed as quirky exhibitions promoting the company’s ingenious musical instruments, featuring new musical products based on the voice, and even more outrageous “product demonstrations” by President Tosa and his employees.

Earning them the title of "parallel-world electricians" who entertain with their musical gadgetry and wizardry, Maywa Denki develops and manufactures an array of original electric musical instruments such as the laughing machine WahhaGoGo, the BowGun (a gun that barks!) and the singing Otomatone.

Expect lots of singing, dancing, audience interaction, with absurd humour and novelty all thrown in! (1hr 20 mins, no intermission)
