Mini Maestros – Music teaches Children

Mini Maestros is Australia’s leading music education program for babies and pre-schoolers and is now running in Singapore. The program, which has been running for 27 years , has been developed by early music education experts for ages 6 months to 5 years.

These stimulating classes actively involve children in singing, movement activities, playing percussion instruments, dances and dramatic play activities, all aimed at extending the vital stages of development in children. Trained teachers create a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages learning, playing and having fun together.

The Power of Music Education

Being involved in this structured, sequential program enhances a child’s development in all areas of learning such as cognitive and motor skills, speech and vocabulary, and language, listening and social skills. Mini Maestros is an educational program and it is based on the philosophy of ‘learning through play’, so children have fun as they learn. Parents love Mini Maestros because they can see their child’s skills developing as they progress through the program.

“I just wanted to say how much we have loved these classes. They are calm, happy, stimulating and fun and I have loved watching Emma’s confidence grow and her musical love develop. Thank you for a truly wonderful childhood experience.” – Lizzie.

“My son loves his Mini Maestros class – it’s the highlight of his week! There’s such a great mix of music, instruments, nursery rhymes etc., and for me as a mother it’s wonderful to spend some quality time with him in an environment where he’s so happy!” – Julia.

“My daughter quit learning piano when she was 5 because she didn’t like the theory. If only there was a Mini Maestros class then, she would have been able to have learnt music through play.” – Sharon, co-owner.

The program’s lead teacher, Emily Whelan, is an American singer and educator who has enjoyed an international music career – performing and teaching professionally in the US, Australia, and Singapore for nearly 20 years.

Emily is happy to have the opportunity to share her love for music with her students. “Music helps to open our hearts and minds more fully–it gives us a beautiful shared language with which we can teach, learn, and enjoy each other, and the world around us.”
