Unique buffets in Singapore

Singapore is known as a food paradise and some have even gone as far to say that eating is our national past time! So it comes as no surprise that the types of buffet on offer now are endless. We take a look at some of the more interesting ones that are probably Uniquely Singapore.

Champagne Dim Sum Brunch Buffet at Cherry Garden
The Cherry Garden restaurant located at the exclusive Mandarin Oriental Hotel offers an eclectic menu of Cantonese cuisine, presented with artistic modern flair.

Look forward to authentic Cantonese cuisine and delicious dim sum at this all you can eat buffet. The surprise is the pairing of exclusive Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne with the dim sum! Definitely makes for a sumptuous and very high-class brunch.

Durian Buffet
Durian, the king of fruits. Also a fruit that exhorts extreme feelings of love and hate in every different individual.

This buffet is only for serious durian lovers.
The Durian Fiesta in an annual event at Goodwood Park Hotel, where durian treats will be on offer for the whole month. This year’s event was ended 31st July, but pencil the months of June and July 2013 for the next durian fiesta.

We also heard that there is a a Durian Buffet @ Blk 211 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh offering all you can eat durians for $15 per person for every hour! Sounds like a great deal!

Chocolate Buffet
The Chocolate Bar at Marina Bay Sands, sits atop the sky park overlooking Singapore’s gorgeous skyline. Come and experience this haven for chocolate connoisseurs, offering over 50 decadent desserts crafted by hand with premium chocolate.

Let Executive Pastry Chef Ryan Witcher and his team take you on a journey of textures, tastes, with new techniques and surprising pairings to intensify the creamy fragrance of white chocolate and bittersweet taste of dark.

Highlight include:

  • Strawberry-Basil Truffle Pop
    A delicious lollipop made from wild strawberries, hand-picked basil and milk chocolate that will be certain to bring out the kid in you.
  • Botanica
    This new addition is a tribute to the Gardens by the Bay. It is a Sicilian Sáble baked with fresh raspberries, topped with a White Chocolate-Marigold Whipped Ganache and sprinkled with edible flower.

Ice cream buffet
I’ve got a huge sweet tooth and my friends have even called me a dessert fiend so the ice cream buffet at Swensen’s Ion Orchard is right up my alley.

With over 50 ice cream flavour on offer at any one time, 40 dessert topping, pastries and even two chocolate fountains, this all you can eat buffet is perfect for any dessertholic.
